| 15 February 2005 - Project startup Meeting of the FAO representatives with representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of Macedonia.
23 February 2005 - National Coordinator appointed The Minister of Agriculture, Forests and Water Economy - Sadulla Duraki, appointed Mr. Jovica Ristovski as the National Consultant for the project. The Minister appointed also the Chairman of the Steering Commitiee - Mr. Petruš Popov, and its member in the Steering Commetiee - Mr. Zoran Zlatevski.
25 February 2005 - Invitation for Steering Commitee members The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy addressed letters to all identified Ministries, institutions and organizations as major forestry stakeholders.
8 March 2005 - First meeting of the Working Group The members of the Working Group were defined and assignments were provided: Mr. Angele Spirovski - Management of
state resources and private forests
22 April 2005 - Ministerial Declaration At 12:00h in the Conference hall of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy the Minister held a press release where declared the start of the project for "Institutional development and capacity building in forestry and forest industry subsectors".
16 May 2005 - Participatory Approach training From 16 May till 19 May 2005 the memebers from the Working Group and other relevant people involved in the project undertook a Training of Foresters in Participatory Approach, to be used in the process of the policy and strategy formulation.
19 May 2005 - Regional meeting - Skopje From 10:00h at the premisses of the FAO Coordination office in Skopje was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the topic "The relation of the forestry as an economical sector towards the forest as an eco-system". This was the first from a serie of participatory meetings for inclusion of the public and surveying their opinions about the forestry in Macedonia.
10 June 2005 - Regional meeting - Strumica From 12:00h in the hotel "Ilinden" - Strumica was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the topic "Forest resources management - problems and solutions".
16 June 2005 - Regional meeting - Vinica From 12:00h in the hotel "Sliv" - Vinica was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the topic "Forest resources management in state and private ownerhip".
23 June 2005 - Regional meeting - Mavrovo From 12:00h in the hotel "Makpetrol" - Mavrovo was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the topic "Problems in forestry".
29 June 2005 - Regional meeting - Ohrid From 12:00h in the hotel "Villa st. Sophia" - Ohrid was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the topic "Forest management in the region".
19 September 2005 - First Draft National Forestry Development Strategy formulated The Working Group, in intensive work starting from June, formulated the First Draft National Forestry Development Strategy of the Republic of Macedonia.
25 October 2005 - Consultation Meeting The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of Macedonia, in the light of the formulation of the draft National Forestry Development Strategy for the Republic of Macedonia, organized a national Consultation Meeting. Representatives of all relevant and all stakeholders' organizations and institutions of the Republic of Macedonia were invited to take part. The meeting was held in hotel Aleksandar Palace. On the meeting were present 81 participants.
11 November 2005 - Steering Committee meeting The Steering Committee of the project had its second meeting in the meeting room of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy where the draft National Forestry Strategy for Sustainable Development was under consideraton. After the debate, the draft Strategy was greeted and accepted by the Steering Committee.
22 March 2006 - Expert Consultative Meeting An Expert Consultative Meeting was held at the Faculty of Forestry - Skopje discussing the draft Action Plan for sustainable development of the forestry in Macedonia. On the meeting participated experts from several state institutions.
30 March 2006 - Regional Meeting in Prilep From 12:00h in the hotel "Kristal Palas" - Prilep, was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the first draft of the Action Plan.
31 March 2006 - Regional Meeting in Strumica From 12:00h in the home of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia - Strumica, was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the first draft of the Action Plan.
4 April 2006 - Regional Meeting in Kicevo From 12:00h in hotel "Kicevo" - Kicevo, was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the first draft of the Action Plan.
6 April 2006 - Regional Meeting in Sveti Nikole From 12:00h in the hotel "Ovce Pole" - Sveti Nikole, was held a regional meeting for learning of opinions and suggestions from the stakeholders on the first draft of the Action Plan.
4 May 2006 - Steering Committee meeting The Steering Committee of the project had its third meeting in the meeting room of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy where the draft Strategy for Sustainable Development of Forestry in the Republic of Macedonia with Action plan was under debate. After the debate, the draft Strategy and Action plan were greeted and accepted by the Steering Committee.
11 May 2006 - Promotional Meeting The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of Macedonia, in the light of the formulation of the final draft Strategy for Sustainable Forestry Development in Republic of Macedonia with Action Plan, organized a Promotional Meeting. Representatives of all relevant and all stakeholders' organizations and institutions of the Republic of Macedonia were invited. The meeting was held in hotel Aleksandar Palace.
19 June 2006 - 107th Governmental Session The Government of the Republic of Macedonia, adopted the Strategy for Sustainable Forestry Development in Republic of Macedonia with Action Plan 2007-2009.
